Hospital Report

Doctor Kami Temba Sherpa reports that the Kunde Hospital is doing well amidst the Pandemic. There are few adequate testing kits available to the Region, however as of September, there were no COVID-19 related cases seen at the Hospital or reported in the Kumbu Region. The Nepal Government currently reserves testing kits for the more densely populated and harder hit Urban areas.

For their part, Kunde Hospital staff continue to educate and support Everest communities regarding the virus, and in their local language. They are promoting proper hygiene but admit that monitoring social distancing measures is difficult, particularly during planting season.

ZOC High School Report

The School year which typically begins in April was delayed due to several Government mandated shutdowns through Spring and Summer. We are pleased to report that the High School is now open! Parents, teachers, and students are all delighted to be back! Check out the wonderful photos of the students happily at school, despite having to wear masks and be social distancing.

Funding

In these uncertain times, we are greatly impacted by the cancellations of our planned fundraising events, as well as the significant decrease in funding coming from other sources. Your financial assistance is more important than ever to help us sustain our Health and Education projects in Nepal.
